CAMP CRAIGNANO, MASHOBRA

Craignanao is an old pre independence era retreat, named after the Italian countess of Craignanao. In 1890 Craignanao was turned in to the united service club. Craignanao’s another claim to fame is the world’s highest water lift ( 7657ft) builds by the British that still servers Shimla. Set Amidst a forest of Pine and Oak, Craignanao 2279 mts, with its sublime weather (10-12 degree Celsius) is an ideal summer getaway. At a distance of 12kms from Shimla Town, Camp Craignanao is a perfect place to unwind. The camp offers multifarious adventure activities in its surroundings.

There are numerous pathways for short hikes in the verdant forests, where we also find spots for rock climbing and rappelling ,the trails here are just perfect to go mountain biking, and the flora and fauna is a nature lover’s delight. At a distance of 39 kms from the camp is the Tattapani, on the banks of river Satlej, where one can indulge river rafting. At the camp we can do rope course activities (Burma Bridge, Tarolene Traverse etc.)

Facilities: Lodging in swiss tents and Rest house rooms with attached toilets with running water. Electricity is available 24 Hour in the campus. Dining area with a capacity of 40 people at a time. Charging point inside the swiss tents and rooms. Hot Water available through gas geysers on request. Aquaguard purified water. Music System and Projector with screen. Bonfire and Cultural shows on request. First Aid Kid, Doctor on Call. (Nearest hospital is just 1 km away) Low level obstacle course. 24 Mountain Bikes with 21 gears. Hammocks for relaxing.
